Thomas Jefferson and His Crazy, Wild, Life!Thomas Jefferson, magically born on April 12, 1743, in Albemarle County, Virginia. Not even knowing he’d be the third president of the United States, a congressman, an architect, a scientist, a philosopher, an amazing inventor and, one of the most memorable Americans’ ever! Jefferson was the third child out of 10 children. His father’s name was peter Jefferson and his mom’s name was Jane Randolph. Members of his family were the very first to actually settle in the state of Virginia, they emigrated from the Wales sometime in the 17th century. His father died when he was 14 years old, and he became the head of the family. Most of his childhood was spent in Tuckahoe, Virginia. He went to school in a one room school in a schoolhouse. He began his studies as a reverend with Reverend James Maury in 1752.

Thomas Jefferson is the greatest American because; he was one of the best presidents! He was the one who made the Louisiana Purchase, and invented many everyday things such as, the folding campstool, the folding ladder, the music stand, the folding campstool, the folding ladder, the music stand, the portable writing desk, the revolving chair, the cipher wheel for cryptography, moldboard plow, hemp-beaker for threshing machines, and improved carding machine. Did you know that he was one of those brilliant men who helped create The Declaration of Independence in, 1774? Well he was and he did a great job, look where we are today! If it wasn’t for Jefferson and his pals, we still might be a part of Great Britain. His job was to write the draft. But before he was president he was the vice president of John Adams.
In 1767, he began his practice as a lawyer. Over the next 7 years, he took over 1,000 cases. He was a very successful lawyer but want a more exciting job.
In 1969-1775 he was elected into The House of Burgesses.
In 1785 he was appointed to Secretary of State by, George Washington.
Jefferson actually became one of the best presidents in 1800. He and his opponent Aaron Burr received the same amount of electoral votes. It was thrown into the federalist-controlled House of Representatives which selected Jefferson as President. After this he served two terms. During those two terms he made one of the best decisions as being president, and that was the Louisiana Purchase. It almost doubled the size of the United States and cost less then 2cents per acre. When he was president The United States got along with practically everyone, such as, The United Kingdom, France, Spain and The American Indian Groups. He was 65 when he retired from presidency.

their creator with certain Unalienable Rights that among these are life, liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness.” This just meant that he believed that all things are possible and everyone had there own individual rights.
Jefferson was also famous for being a slave owner. He enslaved Africans on farms that he owned. He and Alexander Hamilton didn’t like each other to much because of their different beliefs. These days we call it democrats and republicans. How can you tell me that he is not the greatest American if all time? He has done so many things to create a beautiful and free country for all of us today.
